Mindfulness is about this moment. Have you ever felt stuck or had fear whenever you wanted to start something new?
When I want to start something new, as a perfectionist, I tend to overthink things. Thus, I either had a hard time getting the project started or got stuck in the process as my mind got attached to the future outcome. An outcome like, “will this work, what will others think of me? So many people are much better than me at this. Will people like what I am doing? Will they accept this? “
After practising mindfulness, I realised that the majority of my concerns stem from my ego, and that my pride is the source of my fear of failure. And my mind was attached to the future thoughts created by my ego. Mindfulness practise made me aware of that, and because of that, I can redirect my focus and awareness back to the present moment. Now I can start something new with much ease and faster completion time.
